Newer from Roland is the Roland TD-50KV2. It is unfortunately extremely expensive, but no kit on the market comes close in terms of feel, size, sounds and performance. The Roland TD-50KV2 is by far the best electronic drum set on the market.

The kit features the latest digital technology from Roland. Both the ride and the snare use digital inputs and are much more responsive than anything on the market. The snare uses the static electricity in your hands to detect rim clicks and cross stitches. The ride also allows you to mute the cymbals by simply placing your hand on the bow of the cymbal. It’s very great tech if you try it.

In early 2023, I still think the TD-50KV2 is a great option, but the VAD series gives these drums a run for their money (but really, it’s just because of the looks of the shells).
