Review Electronic Humidor – Wow! The name is a mouthful and the title is the last time I refer to all those words. Some call them wine because they look like wine fridges. Some companies have upgraded their wine coolers with dehumidifiers. Others call them coolers, but I’m going to refer to it as a ‘cool humidor’. The manufacturer has a smaller version of Box 150 which means it contains 150 cigarettes. They have another larger model for 250 cigarettes, but this review is short. I thought the name was an attempt to give the humidor a quasi-French name. However, the whole company is called Oude and they make a lot of stuff (you can find it on Amazon). There is a similar sounding word in French, ‘Adieu’ which means farewell or literally ‘to God’ and is part of the phrase ‘To God I commend you’, the French version of which is ‘God be with you’. The word farewell was introduced into the English language in the 1300s. Today, people use it if they want to look like ‘Boujee’, an abbreviation of Bourgeoisie, which refers to middle class people who have materialistic values and want to move up to the upper class. Sorry, I was thinking about my review. But what are the specs of this Audew 150?
Holds 150 sticks, temperature adjustment from 54F to 74F, good seal when closed, solid cedar shelves and drawer, decorative analog hygrometer, UV light in door and LED light on top. Fill the tank with water, set the temperature at 70F and leave it uncovered for 3 days to allow the cedar to fully mature and the humidity to reach 10% of the desired level. I used some 80% Boveda packs and my Oshkosh tool. After 3 days, the humidity reaches 76%. After putting a cigarette in it, I checked the Govy readout on my phone. He opened the door, picked out a cigarette and closed the door, which took two minutes, the humidity dropped 10% (to 66%) and the temperature rose a few degrees. After closing the door, I check the humidity and temperature of the Govi device. The temperature returned to the setting in about 20 seconds and the humidity returned to 76% in 5 minutes. Remember that the humidity in Las Vegas is 10%.

Now that everything seems to be working, I will remove the Boveda packs and see how the Oshkosh holds the moisture. It was always 80% in my old 20 cigar humidor, but that old humidor was lined with fake cedar, not even veneer, more like cedar contact paper.
The bottom line is that this ‘cool’ humidor is rated best by many review sites and by Tim at CigarsDailyPlus.com. I think it’s a great value, especially in the dry, hot southwest part of the US. My total investment was $198 for the Audew 150, $15 for the Govi Bluetooth temperature and humidity controller, and $20 for the Boveda bundles (all of which come with free shipping).
