Beautiful, but do not go around expecting amazing quality, because, it does not have a backlight except one from a high-end smartphone. That being said, you can turn your device’s brightness up to high and keep the room as dark as possible for best results.

Kodak Luma 75 Portable Pocket Projector Review

At $549.99, the Kodak Luma 450 is the flagship model of Kodak’s Luma line, a similar series that includes the Luma 75, our Editors’ Choice for pocket projectors, and the Luma 350, the best choice for 854-by. – 480-pixel palmtops. All Luma models have the same flat, rectangular palmtop design, differing in size and features. The 450 is tied for the largest of the group, while being small enough to fit comfortably in the palm of one hand, and offering the highest native resolution. It didn’t earn an Editors’ Choice slot, but it offers more than enough to merit consideration. At 1.2 pounds, it’s the smallest and lightest 1080p projector we’ve seen to date.

Size, of course, is a relative term. The Luma 450 is larger than the Luma 75, for example, but it’s smaller enough to fit in a jacket pocket, at 1.3 by 5 by 5 inches (HWD). Like most projectors smaller than the battery, it was built around the LED lights and the diamond-array chip DLP, which provides lower power compared to TI’s rectangular chips to increase battery life. For the Luma 450, the rated operating hours (with image brightness) vary among the three power modes, at 1.5 hours for High power mode, 2 hours for Normal, and 2.5 hours for Eco.

Since 1982, thousands of products have been tested and rated to help you make better purchasing decisions. See how we tried.(Opens in a new window)

Diamond-array chips can also introduce artifacts into the projected image, but these appear only in images with small repeating patterns. This can be a problem for presentations using full-frame, but is not a problem for other graphics, or for watching movies and videos.

Xgimi Mogo Pro Is An Android Tv Projector Missing Content

Like many projectors today (although not usually on palmtops), the Luma 450 includes home streaming, using Android OS 9 in this case as opposed to Android TV. Wi-Fi is the only connection option for your network to connect to the Internet. Once you’ve completed the initial setup, you’ll find apps for several popular streaming sites installed (including Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu), as well as an app to download more. Keep in mind, though, that at least what I tested requires installing Kodak’s Luma app on your phone or tablet, and connecting the mobile device to the same network as the projector, in order to use it.

Physical setup requires no more than connecting (optional) AC power and a video source, turning on the power, manual focus, and adjusting the image size using moving the projector. The device also includes a digital zoom and a keystone for this, but like all projectors, it is neglected, as it reduces brightness and adds artifacts.

Kodak also includes a tabletop tripod in the box, which helps make it easier to aim at whatever you’re using as a screen. In addition to streaming via a Wi-Fi connection, the Luma 450 offers an HDMI port and a USB Type-A port to read files from a USB memory stick or use an HDMI streaming dongle. It also supports mirroring for iOS and Android devices connected to the same network.

A set of two 1-watt speakers can be used in small quiet rooms. For higher audio or better quality, you can use Bluetooth or the 3.5mm audio-out to connect headphones or an external sound system.

Native 1080p Projector With Wifi And Bluetooth, 5g 4k Ultra Hd Portable Projector Support Ios&android Sync

Image quality for business presentations and home entertainment is best described as good to be useful, which is as good as you’d expect from a projector in this category. The Luma 450 offers only one picture mode, and there are no controls to adjust even basic settings like brightness, contrast, and volume.

Sharp controls are at the top of my wish list, because the shutter speed is so sharp. This is often a problem for small text that you might use for presentations, as it creates noise that makes small print difficult to read. However, it is shown in good detail in realistic pictures. In close-up, for example, it increases small blemishes and pores.

Clipping is less noticeable in videos and movies, as any movement in the image helps to mask the effect. But the combination
